Russo-USA TODAY SportsIndianapolis Colts general manager Chris Ballard announced Tuesday that both 2018 Defensive Rookie of the Year Darius Leonard and Pro Bowl tight end Eric Ebron underwent offseason procedures.Leonard, who was the league’s leading tackler in 2018 and an All-Pro selection, had a procedure on his ankle that will sideline him for up to six weeks. He’ll miss the rest off the team’s offseason programs for the second year in a row — which includes minicamp and OTAs — but will be set to return by training camp. According to Ballard, Leonard had sustained the injury early in the season but managed to appear in 15 regular-season games.On a less serious note, Ebron had surgery on his groin back in early April and isn’t expected to miss extended time. Ebron finished up a career-year in his first season with the Colts; setting an Indy record with 13 receiving touchdowns while racking up 66 catches and 750 yards.The Colts also announced on Tuesday that they’ve signed edge rusher Dadi Nicolas, who was most recently a member of the Washington Redskins. A 2016 sixth-round pick by the Kansas City Chiefs — where and when Ballard served as the Director of Football Operations — Nicolas played all of his 11 career appearances in his rookie season before an injury sent him to the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list in 2017. Unfortunately, Ramsey will be on the field today to make life a little more difficult for Andrew Luck and the receiving corps. On the other hand, LT Josh Walker will not be on the field which means Ereck Flowers will be starting at the left tackle spot which should open the door for the Colts to increase the pressure on Cody Kessler who’s getting his first start today. This one should be a matchup to watch throughout the day to see how the Colts defense attacks the left side of the Jaguars offensive line.
